Another successful Diabetes camp was organized and facilitated by the Philippine Society of Pediatric Metabolism and Endocrinology on June 16-18, 2024 at Balay Indang, Cavite. 41 teens diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes mellitus joined this year and had fun while learning more about their condition.
The Diabetes camp is an annual initiative of the Society that aims to educate, empower, and strengthen children and adolescents in managing Type 1 diabetes. This year's theme is T.H.R.I.V.E. (Teens with Diabetes: Healthy, Resilient, Innovative, Vigilant, and Empowered).
They spent two nights and 3 days with other kids like them while learning from Pediatric Endocrinologists, Nurse educators, Nutritionists, and other allied health professionals.
